Football Recap: Southern Valley Takes a Loss

Southern Valley played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Arapahoe Warriors, falling 50-26. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Southern Valley lost, don't look at Prestin Horwart. Despite the final result, he rushed for 102 yards and four TDs, and also threw for 129 yards on nine of 24 attempts.

Hayden Sich was nothing short of spectacular for Arapahoe: he rushed for 140 yards and four touchdowns. Briggs Hill was another key player, rushing for 59 yards and one score.

Southern Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Arapahoe, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Southern Valley will square off against rival Alma on Friday. Meanwhile, Arapahoe is set to take on their familiar foe Dundy County-Stratton at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
