Volleyball Recap: Gray Collegiate Academy Starts Season with Win on the Road

Gray Collegiate Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Midland Valley Mustangs by a score of 3-1. The War Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Gray Collegiate Academy was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-11, 22-25, 25-15.

Courtney Burgess paced Gray Collegiate Academy's offense, picking up 13 kills. Burgess got some help from Colby Branham and her 22 assists.

Midland Valley is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Gray Collegiate Academy has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against North Augusta on the 4th. As for Midland Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Lakeside on the 3rd.
