Softball Recap: Bellport Comes Up Short

Bellport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to the West Islip Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on April 2nd.

Bellport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angely Banegas, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Bellport's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for West Islip, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bellport will square off against rival Centereach at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, West Islip is set to face off against their familiar foe Smithtown West at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
