Volleyball Game Preview: Smithtown East Bulls vs. West Islip Lions

The Smithtown East Bulls will challenge the West Islip Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The last four games Smithtown East has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

West Islip is facing Smithtown East at the wrong time: Smithtown East suffered their first home loss of the season on Saturday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 1-0.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Smithtown East sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-17.

Meanwhile, West Islip lost 3-0 to Hauppauge on September 12th.

While West Islip was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Hauppauge's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-21, 25-22.

Smithtown East's loss dropped their record down to 16-3-5. As for West Islip, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
