Basketball Recap: Riley Prevost's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jefferson Academy over Elizabeth

It was a proper cat-fight when Jefferson Academy duked it out with Elizabeth on Tuesday. The Jefferson Academy Jaguars took a 64-45 bruising from the Elizabeth Cardinals. The Jaguars just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Jefferson Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Prevost, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Josh Neely, who posted 15 points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Jefferson Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. This was only their fourth loss (out of 15 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Jefferson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Elizabeth, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-12.

Jefferson Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-42 victory against Platte Canyon on the 27th. As for Elizabeth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 75-51 loss against Peak to Peak on the 28th.
