Basketball Recap: Rothsay's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Rothsay lost to Battle Lake back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. Everything went the Rothsay Tigers' way against the Battle Lake Battlers as the Rothsay Tigers made off with a 57-37 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Rothsay's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Battle Lake, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Rothsay will be home for the holidays to greet Ashby at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rothsay knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Ashby likes a good challenge. As for Battle Lake, they will head out to challenge Bertha-Hewitt at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Battle Lake is facing Bertha-Hewitt at the right time seeing as Bertha-Hewitt is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
