Softball Recap: Emerald Ridge Jaguars vs. Bethel Bison

Emerald Ridge stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Bethel Bison with a sharp 22-2 win. The victory was nothing new for Emerald Ridge as they're now sitting on four straight.

Carly Martin was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Martin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive pitching appearances. Martin was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Emerald Ridge got a massive performance out of Kailey Verhoeven, who went 2-for-2 with two triples, five RBI, and two runs. Taylor Orgeles was another key contributor, going 2-for-2 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs.

On Bethel's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laiah Tapia-Toczek, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
