The Show Low Cougars will challenge the Winslow Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Show Low has three straight wins, Winslow has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Show Low proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 13) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Holbrook 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since April 15, 2024.

Karter Alexander was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kash Perkins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Eriksen, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Show Low was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Winslow's offense. They came up short against River Valley on Wednesday, falling 12-0.
Show Low's win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Winslow, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18-1.
Everything went Show Low's way against Winslow in their previous matchup back in March, as Show Low made off with a 16-5 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
