Basketball Recap: El Segundo Triumphs + How To Watch

El Segundo's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They strolled past the Vistamar Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 65-50. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 679th, while the Vikings are ranked 327th).

Vistamar's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marquis Ramirez, who went 11-for-21 on his way to 24 points. With that strong performance, Ramirez is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game. Another player making a difference was Landon McMorris, who posted 21 points and six rebounds.

El Segundo's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Vistamar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

El Segundo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-40 defeat against St. Paul on the 1st. As for Vistamar, they have also already played their next game, a 90-38 loss against Rolling Hills Prep on the 3rd.
