Baseball Game Preview: Creekview Mustangs vs. Wakeland Wolverines

For the second straight game, Creekview will face off against Wakeland. Creekview is taking a road trip to take on Wakeland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Creekview's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Wakeland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Creekview is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since March 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Wakeland by a score of 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Wolverines: they've now lost seven in a row.

Jake Moreno spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Creekview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Landberg, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Wakeland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. Creekview's loss dropped their record down to 13-6.
