Riverside is a perfect 10-0 against Potomac Falls since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Ram will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Riverside put up the most runs they have all season on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Dominion a 19-0 shutout. The Ram haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Brooklyn Oliviero made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Oliviero was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other pitching news, Kaylee Kadans looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Christina Franco and Lauren Enright did most of the damage at the plate: Franco went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Enright went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Franco has posted since back in March of 2024. Audrie Merced also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Riverside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Potomac Falls, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Park View on Thursday.
Potomac Falls let Emma Barker and Hayley Kowalski run wild. Barker went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Kowalski went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Zariah Ricks was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.
Riverside's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Potomac Falls, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Riverside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. However, it's not like Potomac Falls struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Riverside took their win against Potomac Falls in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 24-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ram since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
