Football Recap: Madin Gardini's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Patrick Henry over Mission Bay + How To Watch

After flying high against Mt. Carmel last Friday, Patrick Henry came back down to earth. The Patriots took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mission Bay Buccaneers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 179th).

Patrick Henry lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Madin Gardini, who rushed for 84 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 167 yards and one TD. Calvin Glenn was another key player, gaining 195 total yards.

Trey Arnold produced another solid effort throwing for 308 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75.9% of his passes for Mission Bay. Arnold also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making one tackle.

Patrick Henry's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Mission Bay, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patrick Henry will host Hoover at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mission Bay, they will be playing at home against Mira Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers are facing the Marauders at the right time seeing as the Marauders are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
