Basketball Recap: Pflugerville Connally's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Pflugerville Connally came into Friday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the East View Patriots by a score of 42-35 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Patriots back in December of 2024, they had to take a 53-38 loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pflugerville Connally to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aniya Toney, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. With that strong performance, Toney is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Makrista Dolphus, who posted eight points in addition to 12 rebounds and three steals.

Pflugerville Connally's win bumped their record up to 2-24. As for East View, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-23 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Elgin the next time they take the court. Pflugerville Connally will host Elgin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while East View will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
