Recap: Chesapeake Bay Hawks vs. Woodlawn Warriors
The Chesapeake Bay Hawks lost against the Woodlawn Warriors back in February of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Chesapeake took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodlawn. Chesapeake has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Woodlawn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Savannah Johnson led the charge by scoring seven points along with five rebounds and five steals. Kaelyn House was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Chesapeake's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-3. As for Woodlawn, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.
Chesapeake is on the road again on January 3, 2024 and play against Sparrows Point on January 3, 2024. Sparrows Point's defense has only allowed 26.2 points per game this season, so Chesapeake's offense will have their work cut out for Chesapeake. After both having extra time off, Woodlawn and Franklin will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Franklin is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
