Baseball Game Preview: Valley View Cougars vs. Old Forge Blue Devils

The Valley View Cougars will face off against the Old Forge Blue Devils at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Wednesday, Valley View came up short against Wallenpaupack Area and fell 8-4. The Cougars have struggled against the Buckhorns recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Old Forge had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Chiefs.

Angelo DiMauro was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Frank Pero was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Old Forge pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Valley View, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
