Volleyball Game Preview: Burlingame Panthers vs. San Mateo Bearcats

Burlingame is on a four-game streak of home wins, while San Mateo is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Panthers will host the Bearcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Burlingame was able to grind out a solid win over Aragon, taking the game 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Dons: they've now won three in a row.

Burlingame had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-15.

San Mateo won the last time they faced Mills, and Elliott Kim did his part to make sure it happened again. The Bearcats walked away with a 3-1 win over the Vikings on Tuesday for which the team can thank Kim, who had 19 digs and two aces. He has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times he's played.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 21-25, 25-21.

San Mateo is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Burlingame, their victory bumped their record up to 23-6.
