Baseball Recap: Bayfield Takes a Loss

Bayfield lost against Bloomfield back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Bayfield fell just short of Bloomfield by a score of 5-3. The Wolverines' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Tavian Box was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Bayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Bloomfield, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Bayfield will take on Taos in a tournament on Thursday. Bayfield's pitchers better be ready for this one: Taos has averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Bloomfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 18-1 win against Jemez Valley on the 26th.
