Basketball Game Preview: Reynolds Raiders vs. Nelson

Reynolds is 0-6 against Nelson since February of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Reynolds Raiders will head out on the road to take on Nelson at 6:00 p.m.

Reynolds is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 78-13 to Central Catholic, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Rams are ranked 102nd).

Meanwhile, Nelson sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-52 win over Barlow on Wednesday.

Nelson has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Reynolds, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.

Reynolds was dealt a bruising 78-18 defeat at the hands of Nelson in their previous matchup back in January. Can Reynolds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
