Basketball Game Preview: Union County Panthers vs. North Murray Mountaineers

The Union County Panthers will challenge the North Murray Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully North Murray likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Union County challenged Ringgold on Friday. Union County took down Ringgold 67-53. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Tigers are ranked 348th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, North Murray's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coahulla Creek.

North Murray's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10. As for Union County, their win bumped their record up to 19-4.

Everything came up roses for Union County against North Murray when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured an 86-59 victory. Will Union County repeat their success, or does North Murray have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
