It was a good run, but Sayre unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to the Bluegrass United Bluehawks 39-35. The Spartans lost against the Bluehawks in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 59-21 score last time.

Marty Gordon was the offensive standout of the game as she posted six points in addition to nine rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Mia Preston, who had six points.

Sayre's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Bluegrass United, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-15.

Sayre has already played their next contest (against Newport), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bluegrass United has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against LKY.
