Jersey won the last time they faced Granite City and things went their way on Saturday too. The Panthers walked away with a 2-0 win over the Warriors.

Jersey never let Granite City on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-12.

Grace Russell was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had nine digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last 14 games.

They weren't the only good server: Jersey was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Granite City only served six aces.

Granite City lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aubree Briggs, who had six digs and two aces. Jailynn Woods also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Jersey's record is now 11-6. As for Granite City, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-11-1.

Jersey didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Alton on the 20th. Granite City has also already played their next matchup (against Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
