Curtis Baptist came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Augusta E, but Jude Brouwer wouldn't allow it. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Crusaders on Thursday, sneaking past 50-47 with plenty of help from Brouwer, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards. He also posted three blocks, which is notable because Augusta E is 3-1 when he posts at least three blocks, but 1-4 otherwise.

Curtis Baptist's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kingsly Shine, who went 6-for-8 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Husband, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Augusta E picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-5. As for Curtis Baptist, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6.

Coming up, Augusta E will challenge Coastal HomeSchool at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Curtis Baptist, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ragin Prep Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant centers against one another: Husband and Kavontay Rose.
