Basketball Recap: University Takes a Loss

University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 36-27 to the Georgetown Eagles. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 13-8 in the first quarter.

University's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Georgetown, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will face off against Gatesville at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans will be up against the Hornets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Georgetown, they will venture away from home to face off against Groesbeck at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
