Volleyball Recap: Soquel's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Soquel waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Mt. Madonna Hawks by a score of 3-1. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hawks, too.

While Soquel might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Mt. Madonna scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Francisco Rothman-Salado paced Soquel's offense, picking up 19 kills. Rothman-Salado got some help from Isaac Koontz and his 36 assists.

Soquel's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Mt. Madonna, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Soquel is set to face off against their familiar foe Santa Cruz at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mt. Madonna will challenge rival Scotts Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
