Soccer Game Preview: St. Joseph's Academy vs. Mt. Carmel

The St. Joseph's Academy Redstickers will head out on the road to square off against the Mt. Carmel Cubs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few goals on average, (St. Joseph's Academy: 0.4, Mt. Carmel: 0.5) so any goals scored will be well earned.

St. Joseph's Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: St. Thomas More, who was ranked third at the time (St. Joseph's Academy was ranked second). St. Joseph's Academy's defense stepped up to hand St. Thomas More a 2-0 shutout on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Redstickers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mt. Carmel, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Hahnville on Tuesday.

St. Joseph's Academy pushed their record up to 16-1-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Mt. Carmel, their win bumped their record up to 16-1-2.
