Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Research Triangle Comes Up Short

Cristo Rey Research Triangle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against The Burlington School Spartans, falling 102-4. The game marked the Bulls' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

The Burlington School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Baker led the charge by going 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points along with seven boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Hammond, who went 7 of 10 en route to 16 points and eight rebounds.

Cristo Rey Research Triangle's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for The Burlington School, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Cristo Rey Research Triangle will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Burlington Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on January 10, 2025. The Burlington School and St. Stephen's & St. Agnes will compete for holiday cheer at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully The Burlington School likes a good challenge.
