Baseball Recap: Point Loma Starts Season with Victory at Home

Point Loma gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Mt. Carmel Sundevils. That's more bragging rights for the Pointers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Caden Williams, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Point Loma will host San Pasqual at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games Point Loma has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Mt. Carmel, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Torrey Pines at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
