Floyd Central will be up against a hot Charlestown squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Charlestown was the clear victor by a 61-40 margin over Austin on Monday. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Anthony Fresh was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 14 en route to 22 points along with five steals and three blocks. The game was his sixth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keevin Bowman, who posted 12 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Floyd Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bedford North Lawrence on Thursday, sneaking past 61-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Highlanders have posted since December 7, 2024.

Charlestown's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Floyd Central, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-13.

Things could have been worse for Charlestown, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-53 loss to Floyd Central in their previous matchup back in February of 2024.
