Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Monroe

Lee County came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Monroe, but Brayden Burns wouldn't allow it. The Golden Tornadoes snuck past the Trojans with a 60-54 win on Friday with plenty of help from Burns, who made all 6 shots he took to post 22 points in addition to three steals and three blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Monroe's points.

Tristan Terry was another key player, putting up 14 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.

The victory made it two in a row for Monroe and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Lee County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Monroe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-40 win against Columbus on the 13th. Lee County and Carver will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
