Baseball Recap: Thornwell's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak at Home

Thornwell's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Southside Tigers. Considering the Saints' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Thornwell got a massive performance out of Jaden Wilson, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Cameron Bryant was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Thornwell hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southside struck out eight times.

Thornwell's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Southside, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Thornwell will square off against Abbeville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southside, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Greenville Tech Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southside has given up an average of 17.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
