Recap: Union Mine Diamondbacks vs. Bradshaw Christian The Pride
The Union Mine Diamondbacks came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 76-70 W over Bradshaw Christian. Given Union Mine's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Bradshaw Christian is ranked 497th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nate Sweet was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with six assists. Isaac Zmerzlikar was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds.
Several The Pride players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josh O'neal, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. O'neal has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was AJ Torres, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Union Mine pushed their record up to 20-2 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Bradshaw Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
