Softball Recap: Wheeler Victorious

Wheeler won the last time they faced North Newton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bearcats came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bearcats.

Grace Gabriel made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Gabriel was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Allen, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

As for North Newton, they will face off against DeMotte Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Spartans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
