Hornell won the last time they faced Livonia, and Lyla Dyring did her part to make sure it happened again. The Red Raiders came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Dyring, who had 16 digs and five aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 23 times she's played.
Hornell had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-19, 25-9, 25-19.
Hornell was led to victory by Mia Nasca and Grace Parnell. Nasca had 20 digs, while Parnell had nine digs. That's the most digs Nasca has posted since back in November of 2024.
The victory made it two in a row for Hornell and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Livonia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hornell will head out to square off against Perry at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Livonia, they will venture away from home to challenge Pavilion at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
