Baseball Game Recap: Juniata Indians vs. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy WolfPack

Juniata had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it seven. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy WolfPack, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the WolfPack this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 back in March.

Jack Greenholt was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.

On the hitting side, Quentin Houtz made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Daylyn Kennedy was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

As for Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Juniata since March 26, 2018.

On Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy's side, Joey Gearhart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was CJ Grove, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Taylor Gigante also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
