Basketball Game Preview: Miami-Yoder Buffaloes vs. Fountain Valley Danes

Miami-Yoder hasn't had much luck against Fountain Valley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Miami-Yoder Buffaloes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fountain Valley Danes at 4:30 p.m. Miami-Yoder's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Fountain Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Last Tuesday, Miami-Yoder didn't have quite enough to beat Cotopaxi and fell 29-26.

Kylie McKnight put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted nine points and seven steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

Even though they lost, Miami-Yoder smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Fountain Valley was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 24-23 to Pikes Peak Christian.

Miami-Yoder's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Fountain Valley, they now have a losing record at 0-1.

Miami-Yoder took a serious blow against Fountain Valley when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 49-11. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Miami-Yoder was down 22-2.
