Baseball Game Preview: Spring Mills Cardinals vs. Fort Hill Sentinels

The Spring Mills Cardinals will challenge the Fort Hill Sentinels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring Mills' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Fort Hill's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Spring Mills' usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Clarke County hitters got past them. The Cardinals lost 13-3 to the Eagles on Monday.

Spring Mills saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Swartz, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Fort Hill didn't have quite enough to beat Williamsport on Saturday and fell 6-5.

Coye Resh and Jake Rice did some serious damage despite the final result: Resh went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs, while Rice got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another was Lukas McMillan, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Fort Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Spring Mills, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Spring Mills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Fort Hill struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
