Basketball Game Preview: Aurora Huskies vs. O'Neill Eagles

The Aurora Huskies will head out on the road to take on the O'Neill Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Aurora is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

On Thursday, Aurora beat Milford 51-39. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Huskies' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Eagles are ranked 103rd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for O'Neill, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 53-45 win over Ainsworth on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Aurora's record is now 10-3. As for O'Neill, their record now sits at 3-9.

Everything came up roses for Aurora against O'Neill in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, as the squad secured a 64-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
