Softball Recap: Matawan Regional Takes a Loss

The Matawan Regional Huskies came up short against the Old Bridge Knights on Friday and fell 9-6.

Matawan Regional got a big performance out of Izzy Weimer, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double. That double was Weimer's first of the season. Maddie DeChristopher was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Matawan Regional now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Old Bridge, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record.

Looking ahead, Matawan Regional will square off against Middletown South at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Old Bridge, they will challenge Sayreville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
