Recap: Harleton Wildcats vs. Wolfe City Wolves
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Harleton Wildcats, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by Wolfe City 48-14 on Friday. Harleton just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Wolfe City found their leader in underclassman Hd Davis, who rushed for 155 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Davis hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Carson Herron, who rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Wolfe City's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Harleton's QB won't forget Jadon Forniglia anytime soon given Forniglia sacked him twice.
Harleton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Wolfe City, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Harleton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wolfe City will face off against Timpson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Timpson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
