Basketball Recap: Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots vs. Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders
The Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots won the last time they faced the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders, and things went their way on Friday too. Hitchcock-Tulare came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 61-49.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trey Thieman, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Thieman hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Owan Watson, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Sunshine Bible Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Hitchcock-Tulare has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Sunshine Bible Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hitchcock-Tulare will take on the Pirates at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Highmore/Harrold is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Sunshine Bible Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Mitchell Christian is ranked 144th, while the Crusaders are ranked 142nd).
