Basketball Recap: Hermon Takes a Loss

Hermon lost against Caribou back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hermon Hawks were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to the Caribou Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Vikings are ranked first).

Hermon has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Caribou, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hermon will face off against Mount Desert Island at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hermon is facing Mount Desert Island at the right time seeing as Mount Desert Island is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Caribou, they will square off against Houlton at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
