Volleyball Recap: Wheatmore Starts off Right with Win over South Davidson

Wheatmore had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the South Davidson Wildcats.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Wheatmore took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-10, 25-14.

Alexis Holifield paced Wheatmore's offense, picking up 11 kills. Holifield got some help from Lanie McMahan and her 11 assists. Holifield also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Madeline Mullinix, racking up four apiece.

Wheatmore will challenge Asheboro at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Davidson, they will take on Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
