West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Northwest Grizzlies. On the bright side, the seven- run effort marked the Pioneers' highest-scoring contest to date.

West's loss dropped their record down to 0-5-1. As for Northwest, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

While West had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Friday.
