Baseball Recap: Spoto's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

With a playoff win on the line, Spoto rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Leto Falcons a 2-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in February.

Not much got past Gavin Hansen, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Leto off the board. Hansen also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Spoto is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Spoto's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Devin Dukes, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Spoto and bumps their season record up to 12-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Leto, they now also have a losing record of 12-13.

Looking ahead, Spoto will square off against East Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. Leto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
