Basketball Recap: Estes Park Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Estes Park had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Nederland Panthers 71-43 on Monday. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bobcats had established a 25-point advantage.

Estes Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Webster, who posted ten points in addition to eight steals and six assists. Those eight steals gave Webster a new career-high. Phineas Smith was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards.

Nederland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Indio Koonz, who put up 14 points and seven rebounds, and Mason Ivey, who earned 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Hertzfeld, who had six points and five boards.

Estes Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 81-66 defeat against Frontier Academy on the 2nd. As for Nederland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 75-29 loss against Campion Academy on the 4th.
