Stebbins is 1-9 against Tippecanoe since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Indians will look to defend their home field against the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m.
Stebbins is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin Monroe.
Meanwhile, Tippecanoe put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Bethel. Considering the Red Devils have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Carson Jackson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Ethan Davis looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
Back at the plate, Ethan Harney was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Mason Dehus was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Tippecanoe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.
Tippecanoe's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0. As for Stebbins, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
