Softball Recap: Harper Creek Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Harper Creek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Pennfield Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won 12 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Aleena Stahlhood made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Stahlhood was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Blair Yurisich and Kaylee Kirkpatrick did most of the damage at the plate: Yurisich went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Kirkpatrick went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Halverson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Harper Creek lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Harper Creek's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Pennfield, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Harper Creek has already played their next game, an 11-8 win against Marshall on the 12th. As for Pennfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 18-6 victory against Kellogg on the 11th.
