Volleyball Recap: Barrington Takes a Loss

Barrington was the 2-1 winner over Huntley when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Fillies/Broncos fell just short of the Red Raiders by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. While the Fillies/Broncos didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Red Raiders 25-21 in the first set.

Barrington started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-23, 25-16.

Kalyn Brookbank paced Barrington's offense, picking up 13 kills. Brookbank got some help from Eve Adler and her 21 assists. Brookbank was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Sophia Tocmo, who had 14 digs and three assists. That's the most assists she has posted over her last seven contests.

Barrington's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Huntley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Barrington has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Hoffman Estates on the 25th. As for Huntley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Crystal Lake Central on the 25th.
