Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask University Lab). They were the clear victors by  a  28-18 margin over the Newman Greenies on Friday. The Cubs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six  runs or more this season.
 Gabby Fontenot was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Fontenot was also big at the plate,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in six of her seven plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-high in  hits (four).
 In other batting news,  Charlotte Lowe was  incredible,  going 6-for-7 with one  home run, six  runs,  and seven  RBI. Those  seven  RBI gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  London Harvey, who  scored four  runs and  stole five bases while  getting on base  in four of her seven plate appearances.
 University Lab  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 17  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
University Lab has  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.5 runs over those games. Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
 Coming up, University Lab will be playing at home against Central Private  at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Newman, they will head out on the road to  take on  Haynes Academy  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
