Baseball Recap: Marcellus Has No Trouble Against Comstock

Marcellus's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Comstock Colts 9-3. Considering the Wildcats have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Abram Coffey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 14 over 5.1 innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.

In other batting news, Marcellus let Cale Hackenberg and Zade Tyska run wild. Hackenberg went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Tyska went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Marcellus' win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Comstock, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Marcellus beat the Colts by a score of 10-6 later that day.
